my kitchen needs a makeover

seriously, i still love the colour, love the idea...but i HATE this big ikea cabinet that's taking up like half the walk space. AND because the kitchen is my cooking/sewing room, i need to fun this place up a teense. (i'll post pictures & ask for ideas later this week...i need your help, minions...please, pretty please!

the news on the street

oh-me-oh-my. what a week. it's official, there are NOT enough hours in a day to get half the things done that need to get done. remember that lame-o movie with michael keaton, multiplicity? sadly, i dream of this being true about 753 times a day.

no boring you with details. let's focus on something fun. f-u-n, FUN. & what's more fun than stuff for the working girl (or boy) in you. if you spend as much time as i do in & around working...well, let's just say it's time to spice it up a bit. (and let's be real, i am a huge, ginormous geek.) i few things i have on my perpetually growing "molly-wants" list.

the cassette tape is a usb hub. design-win. (though i can't find a place that sells them in the states...blurg.) the thing with the strap is an ipod/iphone holder. well done, for $28 smacks. & last but certainly not least, a wooden laptop case. perhaps a bit bulky, but tres chic. thankfully, it costs 220 euros, so i will not be buying this until i'm 40.

mark your calendars people. in 2019 i will be wanting this laptop case (but to tell the truth, we will all probably not have any need for actual hardware or cases to hold them in by then. probably just your standard issue chips-in-the-brain...a girl can dream.)

now you know, i have issues with buying cards. ever. i pride myself on handmade notes/postcards, etc.

barcoded & ready for service

so...i had what i thought was an oh-so-original idea awhile back. i've wanted a tattoo on my wrist for a long time...at least a few years. nothing obnoxious-no latin, nothing floral. just something smallish on the inside of my right wrist. but i haven't pulled the proverbial trigger because i couldn't (& can't) for the life of me figure out something i want to look at permanently & forever.

so my idea...it came to me in a flash. a barcode! it represents everything i want to say-capitalism, robots, man vs. machine...everything. i really thought i had struck gold. i felt like the single most creative person in the world.

i mention my brilliant, fortune 500 idea to a friend. he looked me and laughed so hard he almost got hit by a bus. "there are whole websites of people that have had the same "genius, original" idea. it's one of the most over-done tattooes ever." i looked it up. there's even a GD wikipedia page.

so in lieu of getting a dumb tattoo, i collect random barcode stuff. here's to innovation.(barcode pillow. floor mat, wall decal)

i am totally obsessed with these. i want everything i own to come in multiple sizes from large to small & to nest. that has to be possible.
1. mini matryoskha iron-on patches, only $5 smacks.
2. buttons, buttons, buttons! $6 for all 5.
3. small pouch, also $9 clams. only a few left in stock, but tons of other cute stuff here.
4. magnets, only $9 ducks for all 4. love this fat version. makes me happy.

for some bizarre reason, the universe is telling me to give a shout out to the tom-selleck...yes, the illusive & ever-tricksy mustache. i keep running across mustached-items...& can't deny you the fun any longer. enjoy! (picture found at...well...ffffound, of course.)



from supermarkethq, this perfect tote is pretty much something i want right now.
