& our 3rd & final new pattern is...

MIDNIGHT TRAIN (aka "about today"* **!)

midnight train, donut 5

midnight train, bed
we had so many vote correctly, we had to pick TWO winners! emily f. (posted on facebook) & veronica (posted on the blog) are winners of this, our last round! please email us at help@mollymutt.com to redeem your prize.

thank you SO MUCH to all of you for taking the time to vote. we love you!!

*we had to change the name, because as you know all molly mutt patterns are named after songs...and we couldn't have 2 out 3 new summer patterns named after songs from the same band ("conversation 16" & "about today" are both songs by the band the national!)

**we were clearly missing a song by gladys & the pips!

21.2.11

we are two years old!!

2 year anniversary
thank you for making this possible-all of you!! xoxoxxx

(for more opinions than you need on chocolate chip cookies, see yesterday's post-which talks of little else!)

new flickr favorites

trolling flickr recently for design inspiration, and ran across these gems. thank you artists & illustrators for being nifty.
(lightening cloud by tamer koseli, talk nerdy to me by constantinexgraphics, ice cream truck by haunted house of projects, "never put a bullet in a deer with a mullet" by the amazing kali meadows)

a quoi ca sert l'amour

what good is love?! i've watched this 5 times, and want it easily accessible so i can watch it a million more times. edith piaf is intoxicating. (translation to the lyrics here)

5.5.09

i felt like saying something

about felt (i am so funny sometimes...)

a round up of strangely radical felt goodness. everything here is from etsy. keep on crafting you wickedly creative peops you.

(in the usual order) orange felt dog pouch-$40 smacks. iphone case (SO cool!)-$34.90. punk rock cassette tape zipp-y bag-$38 clams. rabbit pillow-$32 one dollar bills. elizabethan collar weiner dog pillow-$40 bucks (i mean SERIOUSLY?!?! so a++).

the news on the street

oh-me-oh-my. what a week. it's official, there are NOT enough hours in a day to get half the things done that need to get done. remember that lame-o movie with michael keaton, multiplicity? sadly, i dream of this being true about 753 times a day.

no boring you with details. let's focus on something fun. f-u-n, FUN. & what's more fun than stuff for the working girl (or boy) in you. if you spend as much time as i do in & around working...well, let's just say it's time to spice it up a bit. (and let's be real, i am a huge, ginormous geek.) i few things i have on my perpetually growing "molly-wants" list.

the cassette tape is a usb hub. design-win. (though i can't find a place that sells them in the states...blurg.) the thing with the strap is an ipod/iphone holder. well done, for $28 smacks. & last but certainly not least, a wooden laptop case. perhaps a bit bulky, but tres chic. thankfully, it costs 220 euros, so i will not be buying this until i'm 40.

mark your calendars people. in 2019 i will be wanting this laptop case (but to tell the truth, we will all probably not have any need for actual hardware or cases to hold them in by then. probably just your standard issue chips-in-the-brain...a girl can dream.)

night night, punks & princesses.

what did E ever do to you?

when did it become fashionable to hate & revile the letter "e"?

it only struck me recently how this letter is gradually disappearing. let me elaborate. leaving out the "e" all together has become trendsetting & fashionable-all the popular kids are doing it. is it a statement against the man? in protest of the concrete pillars of injustice? a stand against convention & tradition?

or, is the new "kill-the-e" campaign a more sinister plot to one-by-one erase all the letters of the english language...leaving us with crude writing utensils & damp cave walls to draw pictures on. we shall see, puppies, we shall see.

17.2.09

...and away we go!

sooo.....needless to say, after almost 6 hours of lugging boxes in the rain (going to the port, putting everything in the rented 16' truck, taking boxes three at a time with the handtruck up stairs to the freight elevator, running upstairs to meet the elevator, putting boxes back on the hand truck 3-at-a-time & wheeling them to the office...)

THIS IS THE MESS THAT I AM LIVING IN. ah, serenity now. everyone order beds pretty much right on friday & i will be able to get to my desk again without a pole vault.

T-2 days until the launch. inhale. exhale. inhale. exhale.

8.2.09

the week to launch a thousand orders begins

trying VERY HARD to get everything packed...and i mean capital-E, Everything...my checklist is going over the 3-page mark.

such a strange time. excitement mixed with a pretty-much-constant feeling of nausea & restlessness & the feeling that i forgot to do something really important.
here's to great, nay...Amazing things to come. it's a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-get-dirty kind of time, and i love it.

the picture is from the white dog (bella, aka "bebop") & i trying to capture our homepage image. i had to coerce her with almost an entire bag of chex mix (i bought at kinkos, at the absolute last minute, realizing none of my dogs work without being bribed. i will be a phenomenal mother of fat-kids if i keep this up.)

4.2.09

obama is my boyfriend. fact.

um, what what?

barack obama is my boyfriend. scancafe says so. totally just sent in janky 1990 camp pictures just to get this. so now, the president is my valentine AND i get digital restored prints of me wearing jorts. do it. you won't regret it.

win-win.

22.1.09

to the moon alice, chapter 12

this person took the robot-ophilia to the extreme & back again. yowza.

12.1.09

crosswords & chutzpah

in the ukraine (those zany ukrainians) made a crossword on the side of a building. you have to use the cyrillic alphabet to fill it in, so i am out of luck...not sure where the clues are either...but the answers are lit up at night. these people are GENIUS. i asked my apartment manager if i could get this started on my building. he told me to not call his number again unless something is on fire. rude.

23.12.08

ferris wheel of death

trapped on the world's tallest ferris wheel for 6 hours. approximately 541 ft up in the air.

so many questions...i mean, someone had to have "used the facilities in his/her pants." that's certain. the article says the "stranded passengers were given food & water throughout their ordeal." wait. how is that possible? was a helicopter dropping water bottles & grilled cheeses to the people in the doom-baskets? if it was possible to get these kids food & water, why in all that is holy couldn't they get them off?

now i am not afraid of heights. but ferris wheels are f*ing scary. fact. the basket seats rock back & forth, it's really bleeping windy...oh, and this fun-mobile had 28 people per "capsule." kill me now. the claustrophobia is starting to make my eye twitch. TWENTY EIGHT PEOPLE PER CAR. & if they were american tourists...well let's just say i bet that each little car was bursting at the seams. throw up.

that settles it. all this technology is leaving us a million inches up in the air, mashed with obese thrill seekers for 6 hours, smelling like pee & sweat.

molly out.

22.12.08

molly mayhem tumbles

i'll tumble for ya.

started this on friday & i LOVE IT. a way to share all the pictures & chachy crap i run across on the internets. enj

16.12.08

no pants for me, save the date

what will i be doing the day before my big fat gross 30th birthday? riding bart without pants. join the annual fun. (on msnbc too, pranksters hitting the big time grown-up news. you can watch all the previous years here.)

14.12.08

madness is in charge

i had to pass this little "jewel" ad nauseam to you, my fellow internet-kids. though we are not in the business of re-blogging...this is too weird to pass up.
a hello kitty themed hospital in taiwan opened. i can only say wtf.

12.12.08

the man is always watching.

a ponzi scheme. i heard that this morning on npr-had to look it up. tragic to admit, but true. art tells me it's like the movie the sting. an elaborate scheme that relies on pyramid investors who contribute money to a fraudulent program. wiki'ed it too, and lo & behold, the term was coined because of charles ponzi, one of the "greatest swindlers in american history."

he made his dirty money from something to do with stamps. ridiculous.

so beware, kids. someone is always watching. if not the popo, then this austere looking character with the glasses to my left.
